DIAGNOSTICS
What does ‘vehicle diagnostics’ mean?
A vehicle diagnostics test uses specialised computer equipment to link to the vehicle’s computer systems and sensors, reading any current or previous fault codes.
What is a fault code or diagnostic trouble code (DTC)?
A DTC is a computer code generated when a vehicle’s sensors detect it is operating out of range. These codes are intended to provide the technician with a guide as to where a fault might be occurring within the vehicle. Codes are used in conjunction with system, sensor and/ or component testing to determine the root cause of the issue.
