Brake Fluid Flush

What is a brake fluid flush?

A brake fluid flush involves draining the existing fluid (and moisture) out of the system and replacing it with new, clean fluid. A brake fluid flush ensures optimum brake system performance and increases the lifespan of your brake system components.

How do I know if I need a brake fluid flush?

If your brake fluid is dark, cloudy or rusty-looking or if your brakes are feeling spongy, you need a brake fluid flush.  Brake fluid is hygroscopic.  In layman’s terms, it absorbs moisture from the air.  Moisture in your brake fluid reduces it’s boiling point (called brake fade) which at best reduces the effectiveness of your brakes and at worst can lead to complete failure.

Do I have to request that my brake fluid be checked when I get my car serviced?
